NORTHEAST

Leffell 47 Tuckahoe 36

The Lions (14-8) got a rare win over the Tigers and picked a good time to do it - in the Section 1, Class C semifinals at the Westchester County Center. Russell Wechsler led Leffell with 16 points and 9 rebounds and the Lions held Tuckahoe to just 15 points in the 2nd half. The Lions will play in the sectional final for the first time ever, against Haldane March 3.

MIDATLANTIC

Berman H.A. 67 Mesivta 55

Itai Rozmaryn scored 19 points, Alex August added 15 and Naftali Fischler had 13 to lead the #16 Cougars (21-10). The Mustangs (12-5) had their 8-game win streak snapped despite 24 points from Shua Gross and 18 from Dov Hirsch.

SOUTHEAST

Ohr HaTorah 54 Tiferes Torah 47

Yaniv Cohen led Ohr HaTorah (5-6) with 18 points.

MIDATLANTIC

Sts. Peter & Paul 68 Beth Tfiloh 58

The #15 Warriors (24-8) could not repeat as MIAA ‘C’ champs, falling in a rematch of last year’s title game. Jake Schloss led Beth Tfiloh with 22 points and Michael Cohen added 18.

CANADA

King David HS 62 Fraser 53 (Friday afternoon)

Kristian Galazka scored 24 points, Arel Steen added 18 and Paul Zychlinski had 12 as the Lions (8-5) won in the semifinals of the Vancouver Sea to Sky zone playoffs.  

St. John’s 62 King David HS 51 (Saturday night)

The Lions (8-6) fell in the final of the Vancouver Sea to Sky zone championships. Paul Zychlinski had 16 points, Arel Steen scored 13 and Kristian Galazka added 12.

MIDWEST

Rochelle Zell 54 MCC Academy 31

A dominant defensive performance coupled with timely shooting gave the #6 Tigers (23-7) a win in the IHSA 1A Deerfield Regional final. Ophir Zetouni led the way with 20 points, Jake Miller added 14 and Jesse Shapira had 10.

WEST

Denver Jewish Day 43 Belleview Christian 40

David Romershteyn hit a corner trey with :04.2 left in overtime to win it for the top-seeded Tigers (16-3) in the District 8-1A championship game.

CALIFORNIA

Cerritos 60 YULA 51

The #3 Panthers (22-12) squandered an 8-point 3rd quarter lead and fell in the CIFSS 4AA championship game. YULA does move on to Division 4 regional playoffs. Alex Gabbay led YULA with 15 points.
