Shalhevet’s 5th annual Steve Glouberman Tournament tips off this afternoon in Los Angeles.
The boys and girls tournaments will feature the host Firehawks, YULA Panthers, Frisch Cougars, HAFTR Hawks, Ramaz Rams, SAR Sting, Katz YHS Storm, HA Miami Warriors and Maimonides M-Cats. The Ma’ayanot Rapids will also play in the girls’ tournament.
All nine boys teams are ranked in the Jewish Hoops America Top 25, including five - Shalhevet, Frisch, HAFTR, YULA and Maimonides - in the Top 8.
Each team will play two preliminary round games to determine the seeding. The quarterfinals are on Friday.
The tournament will conclude with a busy - and late - Saturday night when both the semifinals and final rounds are played. The boys final will not start before 11:30 pm, or 2:30 am on the East Coast.
