The #3 Aces (17-4) saw their 15-game win streak end in the IHSA 1A state quarterfinals, the farthest a Jewish high school team, girls or boys, has ever gotten in Illinois. Talia Linzer led Ida Crown with 19 points, Ilana Schwartz added 15 and Daria Lennon had 10.

YESHIVA LEAGUE

Frisch 46 Ma’ayanot 25

The #2 Cougars (18-1) won their 12th straight game to reach the championship game as Zoey Levy scored 14 points and Izzy Nadtrich and Galil Neuer added 10 each. The #10 Rapids end the season 9-5.

BOYS

YESHIVA LEAGUE

Magen David 77 SAR 57

Joshua Chabbott’s 22 points, including five 1st half 3-pointers, led four players in double figures as the #1 Warriors (33-2) won their 19th straight game to reach the semifinals. Mark Sardar added 17 points, Jack Haber had 15 and Moses Smeke scored 14. Jonathan Itzhaki paced the #24 Sting (9-13) with 19 points and Sam Weiss added 13.

SOUTHEAST

Katz YHS def Jewish Academy

The Storm (14-9) won in the 4-team inaugural South Florida J-Ball Classic.

Donna Klein Jewish Academy 66 H.A. Miami 55

Josh Matheson scored 18 points, Joey Siemens added 14 and Jason Lewin had 13 as the Eagles (11-11) beat the #13 Warriors (17-11) to reach the final of the South Florida J-Ball Classic.

NORTHEAST

Leffell 47 Tuckahoe 36

The Lions (14-8) got a rare win over the Tigers and picked a good time to do it - in the Section 1, Class C semifinals at the Westchester County Center. Russell Wechsler led Leffell with 16 points and 9 rebounds and the Lions held Tuckahoe to just 15 points in the 2nd half. The Lions will play in the sectional final for the first time ever, against Haldane March 3.

MIDATLANTIC

Berman H.A. 67 Mesivta 55

Itai Rozmaryn scored 19 points, Alex August added 15 and Naftali Fischler had 13 to lead the #16 Cougars (21-10). The Mustangs (12-5) had their 8-game win streak snapped despite 24 points from Shua Gross and 18 from Dov Hirsch.

SOUTHEAST

Ohr HaTorah 54 Tiferes Torah 47

Yaniv Cohen led Ohr HaTorah (5-6) with 18 points.

The #15 Warriors (24-8) could not repeat as MIAA ‘C’ champs, falling in a rematch of last year’s title game. Jake Schloss led Beth Tfiloh with 22 points and Michael Cohen added 18.

CANADA

King David HS 62 Fraser 53 (Friday afternoon)

Kristian Galazka scored 24 points, Arel Steen added 18 and Paul Zychlinski had 12 as the Lions (8-5) won in the semifinals of the Vancouver Sea to Sky zone playoffs.  

St. John’s 62 King David HS 51 (Saturday night)

The Lions (8-6) fell in the final of the Vancouver Sea to Sky zone championships. Paul Zychlinski had 16 points, Arel Steen scored 13 and Kristian Galazka added 12.

MIDWEST

Rochelle Zell 54 MCC Academy 31

A dominant defensive performance coupled with timely shooting gave the #6 Tigers (23-7) a win in the IHSA 1A Deerfield Regional final. Ophir Zetouni led the way with 20 points, Jake Miller added 14 and Jesse Shapira had 10.

WEST

Denver Jewish Day 43 Belleview Christian 40

David Romershteyn hit a corner trey with :04.2 left in overtime to win it for the top-seeded Tigers (16-3) in the District 8-1A championship game.

CALIFORNIA

Cerritos 60 YULA 51

The #3 Panthers (22-12) squandered an 8-point 3rd quarter lead and fell in the CIFSS 4AA championship game. YULA does move on to Division 4 regional playoffs. Alex Gabbay led YULA with 15 points.

Ilana Schwartz scored 24 points and Daria Lennon added 21 as the #3 Aces (17-3) won their 15th straight game and became the first Jewish team to win an Illinois sectional title. They advance to the IHSA 1A Super Sectionals, or Elite Eight, where they will face St. Bede.

The #15 Warriors (24-7) closed the game on a 14-4 run - with Michael Cohen scoring 11 of the points - to return to the MIAA ‘C’ championship game.

Alex August led the #16 Cougars (20-10) with 26 points and Shmuley Levieddin added 10.

WEST

Denver Jewish Day 63 Front Range Baptist 53

Top-seeded Tigers (15-3) won to advance to the championship game of the CHSAA District 8-1A playoffs, where they will face Belleview Christian for the second straight season. Solly Bielsky led with 20 points, Keenan Winnerman added 16 and David Romershteyn scored 13.

Lubbock Christian 60 Yavneh Dallas 32

The Bulldogs (18-7) fall in the TAPPS 3A quarterfinals.

CALIFORNIA

Tri-City Christian 75 San Diego Jewish Academy 57

Ethan Abeles scored 21 points and Jack Silbersteun added 17 but the 3rd-seeded Lions (15-12) fell to the top seed in the CIF-San Diego 5AA sectional final.
