This list is shrinking but these Jewish Hoops America Girls teams are still battling in the playoffs as of Feb. 17:

Illinois: Ida Crown is in the IHSA 1A sectionals

New York: Leffell in the Section 1, Class C opening round

Quebec: H.A. Montreal and Bialik in the GMAA Division 4 playoffs

Texas: Yavneh Dallas in the TAPPS 3A playoffs

British Columbia: King David HS in the GVISAA semifinals

Yeshiva League: Frisch, SKA, Ma’ayanot and North Shore H.A. in the Varsity A semifinals; Ilan and SKA in the Varsity B championship game

And then there were ....

This list will inevitably get smaller in the next two weeks but here are the Jewish Hoops America Boys teams still alive in their playoffs as of Feb. 17:

California Sectionals - YULA, San Diego Jewish Academy, Kehillah Jewish

Colorado: Denver Jewish Day and Denver Academy of Torah in CHSAA District 8-1A playoffs

Illinois: Rochelle Zell, Ida Crown, Fasman Yeshiva in IHSA 1A regionals

Maryland: Beth Tfiloh in MIAA ‘C’ playoffs (Brackets TBA)

Massachussetts: Maimonides in MIAA Div 4 (Brackets TBA)

New York: Leffell in Section 1, Class C

Quebec: Herzliah in GMAA Div 4 playoffs

MIDWEST

Ida Crown 71 Fasman Yeshiva 52

The banged up #9 Aces (13-7) beat rival The Yeshiva (8-9).

CALIFORNIA

YULA 47 Price 44

Jaden Azeroual hit the game-winning free throw with :09 left after he was fouled grabbing an offensive rebound and Yishai Rosenblatt iced it with two more free throws as the #3 Panthers (22-11) won their fifth straight game to reach the final of the CIF-SS 4AA sectional playoffs. YULA held a 5-point lead through much of a sloppy 3rd quarter but found themselves down 3 midway through the 4th. Alex Gabbay tied it up with a 3-point play with just over a minute left and the Panthers defense stopped Price on the next possession, setting up the play that led to the winning free throw.

San Diego Jewish Academy 71 Southern California Yeshiva 34

The game was nip and tuck in the first half but the 3rd seeded Lions (14-11) pulled away in the 3rd quarter to reach the CIF-San Diego 5AA quarterfinals. Jack Silberstein scored 24 points and Ethan Abeles added 21. The 6th seeded Hawks finish the season 12-12.

Kehillah Jewish 50 DCP-Alum Rock 34

The 6th seeded Rams (13-3) won in the 2nd round of the CIF-Central Coast Division 5 2nd Round and will play #3 Thomas More in the quarterfinals.

Spencerville Adventist 53 Jewish Day School 40

The #15 Lions (14-7) fell in the championship game of the Potomac Valley Athletic Conference tournament.

Glenelg County 67 Beth Tfiloh 23

The Warriors (8-16) fell in the IAAM semifinals.

MIDWEST

Ida Crown 62 Orr 46

The #4 Aces (15-3) captured an IHSA 1A regional title with their 13th straight win behind 38 points from Ilana Schwartz and 16 from Daria Lennon.

WEST

MIDATLANTIC

Sandy Spring Friends 74 Berman H.A. 47

Down 19-17 midway through the 2nd quarter the Wildebeests went on a 31-9 run to take control and win their third straight Potomac Valley Athletic Conference championship, all with undefeated seasons. Itai Rozmaryn led the #17 Cougars (20-9) with 16 points and Naftali Fischler added 12. Sandy Spring held Berman’s leading scorers, sophomores Alex August and Gabey Margulies, to a combined 6 points.

Cristo Rey 65 Beth Tfiloh 59

Michael Cohen had 22 points and Jake Schloss scored 21 but the #15 Warriors (23-7) fell for the second time in three games after a 16-game win streak.

CANADA

Crawford 75 Or Chaim Toronto 64

Cody Fox scored 36 points and Nathan Greenbaum added 14 but the Knights (6-7) were eliminated in the opening round of the TDCAA playoffs.

SOUTHEAST

Westwood Christian 66 H.A. Miami 51

The #13 Warriors (17-10) fall in the 2A regional quarterfinals.

MIDWEST

Farber Hebrew Day 77 Frankel Jewish Academy 27

Ari Schon scored 19 points and Gideon Lopatin and Matt Shumayev added 11 each to lead the Fire (9-9) in its final game of the season. The Jaguars fall to 2-15.

WEST

First Baptist 58 Beren Houston 34

The Stars (13-8) fell in the opening round of the TAPPS 1A playoffs. Rafi Miller led Beren with 15 points.

Christ Prep 70 Hyman Brand H.A. 33

Riley Ellis led the Rams (3-13) with 19 points.

Flatirons Academy 69 Denver Academy of Torah 36

The Wolves are 9-8.

YESHIVA LEAGUE

North Shore H.A. 75 DRS 55

After two straight close wins against the #17 Wildcats (13-11) to end the regular season, the #14 Lions (15-16) wasted no time making a statement as they jumped out to a 30-2 lead and were never threatened. Jonah Carmilli scored 29 points, including seven 3-pointers, to lead four players in double figures for North Shore. Jordan Zarka had 17 points, 12 rebounds, Ben Abizadeh added 10 points, 11 rebounds and Shai Altman scored 10 points. Joe Aaron led DRS with 22 points and Aiden Buchbinder scored 16.
