Noah Ohayon had 12 points and Jacob Blank scored 11 to lead the Bulldogs (2-0). Yavneh led by only eight at the half but outscored Coram 37-14 in the second half.

Waterbury 46 DRS 39

The Wolfpack spoiled the Wildcats’ season opener in the Green House by closing the game on a 21-11 run. The game went back and forth in the first half but Waterbury took the lead for good when they scored eight straight points to overcome a three point deficit two minutes into the 3rd. Moshe Weiner led Waterbury with 15 points. Ari Ivry paced DRS with 14.

The Bulldogs overcame a 5-point halftime deficit to win their season opener. Maddy Winton led Yavneh with 11 points and Danielle Feldman added nine.

The Cougars (4-1) cruised on the road in the league opener for both teams.

The Rams were never threatened, cruising to a 29-7 halftime lead over the Storm. Skye Mawardi led Posnack with 14 points and Amanda Kaplan added 10. HA Miami will play Posnack Wednesday for the championship.

Leah Weiss led the Rapids (2-0) with 27 points. Megan Horowitz scored 21 for the Sting in their season opener.

Naomi Sigman led the way with 14 points and SKA held on after taking a 20-point lead late in the 3rd quarter in the season opener for both teams. Tunie Hanan led the Falcons with 15 points.

The Bulldogs led 24-10 at the half before pouring it on in the final 16 minutes en route to a season-opening win. Hillel Baynash led Yavneh with 15 points, Jacob Blank had 11 and Daniel Schick scored 10.

Nitty Hyman scored 20 points, Rob Spirgel added 16 and Akiva Schanzer had 12 as the Sting won their season opener. Yosef Heller led the Thunder (0-2 League; 1-2 Overall) with 19 points.

MTA 56 Kushner 35

What a difference two days makes. The Lions (2-0) managed just 24 points in a win over JEC Saturday night - but reached that early in the 2nd quarter as they rolled over the Cobras (0-1). Tzvi Rudman led MTA with 22 points and Abie Schwartz added 16. Ben Huppert paced Kushner with 11 points.

In a tuneup before each team starts their regular season, Max Rishty scored 22 points and Elliot Braha added 19 to lead the Heat (2-1). Aaron Levy’s 24 points led the Kings (0-2).

Shalhevet Girls, TABC Boys Win at Glouberman

The host Shalhevet Firehawks boys and girls teams reached the finals of the 7th annual Steve Glouberman z’l Tournament in Los Angeles this weekend but only one managed to come away with the title.

The top-seeded girls wrapped up a 4-0 tournament with a 67-53 over #3 Berman Hebrew Academy. Shalhevet had also beaten the Cougars in the preliminary round.

In the boys tourney, the TABC Storm used a dominant start-to-finish performamnce on both sides of the ball to knock off the Firehawks 75-51 and complete a 5-0 weekend. Yis Kaminetzky stood out in a balanced attack and was named MVP.

The boys All Tournament Team included Alex Zakheim of Frisch; Julius Rubinstein of Ramaz; Avi Halpert of Shalhevet; and Shmuel Yablock and Netanel Benloulou of TABC.

Talia Tizabi of Shalhevet won the MVP. The girls All Tournament Team was Eva Rothchild of Frisch; Tali Cohen and Jenny Kagan of Berman HA; and Yalee Schwartz and Ariella Grossman of Shalhevet.
