YESHIVA LEAGUE

The #4 Falcons are 18-5, 10-3 in the league. The Suns wrap up their inaugural varsity season at 2-12.

Magen David 75 YDE 53

Samuel Chira scored 20 points, Solly Movazeb added 19 and Jacob Chami dished out 12 assists as the #8 Warriors (11-2; 20-7) got their third straight win. They can clinch #2 in the East and an opening round bye with a win Sunday over Flatbush (or a loss by two points or less). The Thunder finish the season 4-12, 4-10 in the league.

TABC 44 SAR 35

Both teams rested their starters as this will be the matchup in the opening round of the playoffs, with SAR the West 3-seed hosting West #6 TABC.

North Shore H.A. 56 MTA 52

In completion of suspended game, the #9 Long Island Lions (8-6; 26-8) clinched the #4 seed in the East and will host HAFTR in the opening round. The #16 Manhattan Lions (8-6; 10-9) will get 4th in the West over Hillel (and will host Hillel in opening round) if the Heat lose to DRS in season finale. If Heat win, they'll be #4 and host MTA.

Shana Strohli scored 23 points and Eli Wolfson added 19 to lead the #9 Warriors (16-10) to their third straight win. Leah Sicklick led the #6 Sonics (11-4) with 18 points, Lea Steinmetz added 12 and Rebecca Sisser had 10.

Magen David 40 Flatbush 39

Rina Fatiha led the Warriors (4-14) with 19 points and Michelle Cohen added 16. The #12 Falcons are 10-9.

Katz YHS 64 HAFTR 31

Sarah Leff scored 31 points to lead the #10 Storm (10-7) and Blimi Farkas added 11. The Haqwks are 8-10.

Ma'ayanot 42 HANC 40

Leeba Weiss had 20 points to lead the Rapids (5-10). Binah Baturov led the Hurricanes (6-15) with 19 points.

North Shore H.A. 55 Berman H.A. 23

Dillan Haghighat scored 17 points, Sophia Hajibai added 15 and Dina Levian had 11 for the #8 Lions (17-6). The Cougars (12-2) had their 9-game win streak snapped.

The Sharks (10-0) complete an undefeated regular season. The Lightning (4-6) hold the fourth and final playoff spot but will lose it on a point differential tiebreaker if Na’aleh (3-6) beats 2nd place Ilan in the season finale.

HAFTR Girls Tournament Begins Thursday

January 29, 2026

The 2026 HAFTR Invitational tips off Thursday evening for 10 girls varsity teams.

The host Hawks will be joined by the Berman H.A. Cougars, Flatbush Falcons, Katz YHS Storm, H.A. Miami Warriors, HANC Hurricanes, Ma’ayanot Rapids, Magen David Warriors, North Shore H.A. Lions and SKA Sonics.

Six of the teams (#6 SKA, #8 North Shore, #9 H.A. Miami, #10 Katz, #12 Flatbush and #15 Berman) are ranked in Jewish Hoops America’s Chai High - Girls National Top 18.

Each team will play three preliminary games Thursday and Friday to determine seeding, with play-in games and quarterfinals on Saturday night and the semifinals and finals on Sunday.

All games will be broadcast at HAFTRHawksLive.com

Tanzman Tournament Begins Thursday

Six boys varsity teams will compete in the 8th Annual David Tanzman Memorial Tournament that tips off Thursday afternoon at Farber Hebrew Day in Southfield, Mich.

In addition to the host Fire, the participants are the Atlanta Jewish Academy Jaguars, the Columbus Torah Academy Lions, the Denver Academy of Torah Wolves, the Mekor Chaim Cyclones and the Or Chaim Toronto Knights.

Each team will play three games through Saturday night, with the 5th Place, 3rd Place and Championship games on Sunday.

All games will be live-streamed at YouTube.com/@TanzmanTournament

The Lions pulled away in the 4th quarter to complete a 5-0 tourney and successfully defend their title. The Tigers are 12-6.

Shilo Kahan’s 15 points led four players in double figures but the #7 Lions (24-12) had their 8-game win streak snapped. Jojo Alfassy added 13 points, David Albilia had 11 and Zee Itzkowitz scored 10.

NORTHEAST

Ezra Cutler scored 18 points for the #20 Red Heifers (14-4).

Arlington Catholic 59 Maimonides 47

Ari Halpert scored 11 points and Avery Simon added 10 to lead the #11 Sting (9-4; 20-6) to their sixth straight win. Isaac Stepner scored 17 points for the #3 Cougars (11-3; 15-4), who had their 4-game win streak snapped but still clinched 1st Place in the West when Ramaz lost.

Hillel 63 Ramaz  51

Bruce Epstein scored 20 points and Abe Franco added 17 as the #15 Heat (8-5; 12-8) kept the #10 Rams (11-3; 17-8) from winning the West. Emanuel Kushner had 12 points and Alon Sidi scored 11 for Ramaz, who had their 5-game win streak snapped.

Flatbush 61 HAFTR 38

The #12 Hawks (8-6; 20-11) stormed out to a 15-2 lead but the #4 Falcons (9-3; 17-5) took the lead by the end of the 1st half and dominated from there.

JEC 49 MTA 47

The Thunder are 10-16, 5-8 in the league. The #16 Lions fall to 9-8, 7-5 in the league.
