The Ravens improve to 6-15. The Suns drop to 2-17.

The Cyclones are 7-8. Hurricanes fall to 13-13.

Tier 2 Semifinals

HAFTR 61 H.A. Miami 53

The #20 Hawks improve to 19-10. The #16 Warriors fall to 10-13.

Berman H.A. 70 JEC 63

Alex August scored 33 points, Erez Zaghi added 15 and Noah Lichtman had 10 to lead the #12 Cougars (13-8). The Thunder fall to 9-15.

Tier 1 Semifinals

North Shore H.A. 54 DRS 43

Charlie Sassoon scored 23 points, Benji Levian added 12 and Andrew Kohanim had 10 as the #6 Lions (23-6) won their sixth straight game and handed the #3 Wildcats (19-4) their first loss in 10 games. Lions will be playing in their fourth tournament final this season and earlier beat DRS for the Memphis Yeshiva Invitational title.

Jewish Culture 66 Magen David 36

The #13 Lions (16-10) cruised to their 10th straight win. The #8 Warriors fall to 17-7.

Tier 3 Final

Rambam 60 Mekor Chaim 51

Yitzy Manne led the Ravens (7-15) with 19 points. Cyclones now 7-9.

Tier 2 Final

HAFTR 66 Berman H.A. 49

The game was close until the host #20 Hawks (20-10) pulled away in the 3rd quarter. The #12 Cougars dropped to 13-9.

Championship

North Shore H.A. 61 Jewish Culture 54

Tournament MVP Charlie Sassoon scored 20 points and the #6 Long Island Lions (24-6) won their seventh straight game and snapped the #13 Florida Lions’ 10-game win streak. Andrew Kohanim added 18 points and Benji Levian and Aryeh Sanadaji had 10 each. North Shore has compiled an 18-2 record in four tournaments this year, making all four finals - winning the Memphis Yeshiva Invitational and losing at the Magen David and Sam Gyenes tournaments. Mica Hazan led Jewish Culture (16-11) with 19 points, including 13 in the 4th quarter when they cut a 14-point deficit down to 4. Jojo Alfassy added 14 points and Shilo Kahan had 10.

YESHIVA LEAGUE

Hillel 54 MTA 50

The #14 Heat (7-4; 11-7) won their third straight game and avenged an earlier home loss. The #15 Lions (6-4; 8-7) had their 3-game win streak snapped.

Girls

YESHIVA LEAGUE

SKA 55 North Shore H.A. 51

Leah Sicklick scored 21 points and Lea Steinmetz added 18 as the #7 Sonics (10-3) won their third straight game and took over 1st place in the East. Dillan Haghighat led the #6 Lions (8-3; 15-5) with 21 points.

Hillel 40 HANC 35

The Heat (5-8) keep their playoff hopes alive. Molly Leifer led the Hurricanes (4-8; 6-12) with 12 points.

Alex August scored 32 points, Noah Lichtman added 17 and Reuven Antine had 11 to lead the #12 Cougars (11-7). The Thunder are 8-12.

Jewish Culture 47 HAFTR 37

The #13 Lions (13-10) go to 2-0 in prelims and the #20 Hawks (16-9) are 1-1.

Rambam 62 Mekor Chaim 57

Yitzy Manne led the Ravens (5-13) with 23 points, Gabe Moshayev had 14 and Nate Cohen added 11. Sammy Carter had 17 points to lead the Cyclones (6-6), Yoni Bakayev added 13 and Judah Milner scored 11.

North Shore H.A. 68 Barkai  38

The #6 Lions improve to 20-6. The Suns drop to 2-14.

Magen David 63 HANC 52

Solly Hara led the #8 Warriors (14-6) with 21 points. The Hurricanes now 13-10.

DRS 76 H.A. Miami 49

The #3 Wildcats (17-3) win their seventh straight game. The #16 Warriors are 9-10.

HAFTR 66 Mekor Chaim 47

The #20 Hawks (17-9) go 2-1 in prelims and are seeded 6th. The Cyclones (6-8) go winless in prelims and get the #10 seed.

Jewish Culture 83 Rambam 29

The #13 Lions (14-10) won their eighth straight game, finishing 3-0 in the prelims and getting the top seed. The Ravens (5-14) went 1-2 and are seeded 9th.

Berman H.A. 77 Barkai 27

The Cougars (12-7) finish 2-1 in prelims and secure the final bye into the quarterfinals. Alex August led Berman with 27 points, Ezra Sushner had 19 and Noah Lichtman scored 10. The Suns (2-15) went 0-3.

Magen David 65 H.A. Miami 49

Samuel Chira had 20 points and 15 rebounds and Jacob Chami added 16 points for the #8 Warriors (15-6), who get the 5th seed. The #16 Warriors (9-11) are the #7 seed..

DRS 67 HANC 53

The #3 Wildcats (18-3) finish undefeated in prelims and secure the #3 seed. The Hurricanes (13-11) go 0-3 and are the 11th seed.

North Shore H.A. 55 JEC 36

The #6 Lions (21-6) go 3-0 in prelims and are seeded 2nd. The Thunder (8-13) are the #8 seed..

Samuel Chira led a balanced attack for the #8 Warriors (16-6) with 9 points. The Suns are 2-16.

The #20 Hawks improve to 18-9. The Hurricanes are 13-12.

#7 H.A. Miami 72 #10 Mekor Chaim 45

Caleb Gdanski scored 27 points, Zachary Rothman added 16 and Simcha Rosenberg had 13 to lead the #16 Warriors (10-11) into the quarterfinals. Sammy Carter led the Cyclones with 14 points and Yoni Bakayev added 13.

Quarterfinals

#1 Jewish Culture 73 #8 JEC 42

The #13 Lions (15-10) trailed by 3 late in the 2nd quarter before closing the half on a 10-0 run and then pulled away in the 2nd half. The Thunder drop to 9-14.

#2 North Shore H.A. 60 #7 H.A. Miami 38

#3 DRS 63 #6 HAFTR 42

The #3 Wildcats (19-3) won their 9th straight game. The #20 Hawks are now 18-10.

#5 Magen David 66 #4 Berman H.A. 53

The #8 Warriors (17-6) trailed by 7 late in the 2nd quarter before a 23-4 run put them in control by the start of the 4th. Magen David was led by Jacob Chami with 22 points, Solly Movazeb with 18 and Samuel Chira with 10 points, 10 rebounds. Alex August led the #12 Cougars (12-8) with 22 points and Noah Lichtman added 11.

SOUTHEAST

Katz YHS 70 Toras Chaim 62

Nir Ovaknin scored 27 points and Ethan Stern added 19 to lead the #17 Storm (10-6).

MIDWEST

Mather 71 Fasman Yeshiva 63

Sruli Lebedinsky led The Yeshiva (8-5) with 27 points, Sammy Lebovics added 12 and Elisha Neikrug had 10..

Fuchs Mizrachi 65 Crestwood 49

Moshe Jacobs scored 27 points, passing 1,000 for his career, and Elitzur Sharvit and Jakey Soag added 10 each to lead the Mayhem (6-4).

CALIFORNIA

Blair 57 YULA 51

The #23 Panthers fall to 6-15.

Valley Torah 73 Santa Clarita Christian 60

Eli Leibowitz scored 21 points as the #5 Wolfpack (19-3) extended their win streak to 15 games.

YESHIVA LEAGUE

Kushner 75 Ohr Yisroel 40

The Cobras (6-8; 9-10) wrap up the regular season with their fourth straight win but have been eliminated from playoff contention. The Flames are 0-12.

DRS 47 Magen David 39

The #3 Wildcats (16-3) rallied from a 13-point third quarter deficit to beat the #8 Warriors (13-6) for their sixth straight win.

H.A. Miami 69 HANC 56

Caleb Gdanski scored 35 points, including the 1,000th of his varsity career, and Simcha Rosenberg added 19 points to lead the #16 Warriors (9-9). The Hurricanes are now 13-9.

HAFTR 58 Rambam 35

The #20 Hawks (16-8) won their fourth straight game. The Ravens are 4-13.

North Shore H.A. 58 Berman H.A. 48

The game was tied at 22 early in the 3rd when the #6 Lions (19-6) closed the quarter on a 23-4 run and the #12 Cougars (10-7) never got closer than 7 points in the 4th. Alex August led Berman with 25 points and Noah Lichtman added 18.

Jewish Culture 78 Mekor Chaim 38

Mica Hazan’s 14 points led five players in double figures for the #13 Lions (12-10). Orel Nahmani added 13 points, Zee Itzkowitz had 12 and Jojo Alfassy and David Albilia scored 11 each. The Cyclones are now 6-5.


JEC 53 Barkai 43

The Thunder are now 8-11. The Suns drop to 2-13.

YESHIVA LEAGUE

YDE 67 Waterbury Yeshiva 44

The Wolfpack drop to 4-9. The Thunder are 4-8 overall, 4-6 in the league.

Scott Satran Memorial Tournament begins Thursday at HAFTR

January 1, 2026

HAFTR’s 39th annual Scott Satran z’l Memorial Tournament tips off Thursday at 5:30 pm. .

Seven of the tournament’s 12 teams are ranked in the Jewish Hoops America National Top 25 - #3 DRS, #6 North Shore H.A., #8 Magen David, #12 Berman H.A., #13 Jewish Culture, #16 H.A. Miami and the host #20 HAFTR. The other participants are Barkai, HANC, JEC, Mekor Chaim and Rambam.

Each team will play three preliminary games Thursday and Friday to determine seeding. Play-in games featuring the 5 through 12 teams will be on Saturday night followed by the Tier 1 quarterfinals, the top 4 seeds against the winners of the 5 through 12 games.

The semifinals, Tier 2 and Tier 3 1st Place games and the tournament championship game will be on Sunday. The losing teams from the 5 through 12 games will comprise Tier 3. The losing teams from the Tier 1 quarterfinals will make up Tier 2.
