#5 Magen David 52 #12 Barkai 27

Samuel Chira led a balanced attack for the #8 Warriors (16-6) with 9 points. The Suns are 2-16.

#6 HAFTR 63 #11 HANC 38

The #20 Hawks improve to 18-9. The Hurricanes are 13-12.

#7 H.A. Miami 72 #10 Mekor Chaim 45

Caleb Gdanski scored 27 points, Zachary Rothman added 16 and Simcha Rosenberg had 13 to lead the #16 Warriors (10-11) into the quarterfinals. Sammy Carter led the Cyclones with 14 points and Yoni Bakayev added 13.

#8 JEC 63 #9 Rambam 49

The Thunder improve to 9-13. The Ravens are 5-15.

Quarterfinals

#1 Jewish Culture 73 #8 JEC 42

The #13 Lions (15-10) trailed by 3 late in the 2nd quarter before closing the half on a 10-0 run and then pulled away in the 2nd half. The Thunder drop to 9-14.

#2 North Shore H.A. 60 #7 H.A. Miami 38

Charlie Sassoon had 20 points and Andrew Kohanim added 18 to lead the #6 Lions (22-6) to their fifth straight win. Caleb Gdanski led the #16 Warriors (10-12) with 10 points.

#3 DRS 63 #6 HAFTR 42

The #3 Wildcats (19-3) won their 9th straight game. The #20 Hawks are now 18-10.

#5 Magen David 66 #4 Berman H.A. 53

The #8 Warriors (17-6) trailed by 7 late in the 2nd quarter before a 23-4 run put them in control by the start of the 4th. Magen David was led by Jacob Chami with 22 points, Solly Movazeb with 18 and Samuel Chira with 10 points, 10 rebounds. Alex August led the #12 Cougars (12-8) with 22 points and Noah Lichtman added 11.

SOUTHEAST

Katz YHS 70 Toras Chaim 62

Nir Ovaknin scored 27 points and Ethan Stern added 19 to lead the #17 Storm (10-6).

MIDWEST

Mather 71 Fasman Yeshiva 63

Sruli Lebedinsky led The Yeshiva (8-5) with 27 points, Sammy Lebovics added 12 and Elisha Neikrug had 10..

Fuchs Mizrachi 65 Crestwood 49

Moshe Jacobs scored 27 points, passing 1,000 for his career, and Elitzur Sharvit and Jakey Soag added 10 each to lead the Mayhem (6-4).

The #23 Panthers fall to 6-15.

Valley Torah 73 Santa Clarita Christian 60

Eli Leibowitz scored 21 points as the #5 Wolfpack (19-3) extended their win streak to 15 games.

YESHIVA LEAGUE

Kushner 75 Ohr Yisroel 40

The Cobras (6-8; 9-10) wrap up the regular season with their fourth straight win but have been eliminated from playoff contention. The Flames are 0-12.

DRS 47 Magen David 39

The #3 Wildcats (16-3) rallied from a 13-point third quarter deficit to beat the #8 Warriors (13-6) for their sixth straight win.

H.A. Miami 69 HANC 56

Caleb Gdanski scored 35 points, including the 1,000th of his varsity career, and Simcha Rosenberg added 19 points to lead the #16 Warriors (9-9). The Hurricanes are now 13-9.

HAFTR 58 Rambam 35

The #20 Hawks (16-8) won their fourth straight game. The Ravens are 4-13.

North Shore H.A. 58 Berman H.A. 48

The game was tied at 22 early in the 3rd when the #6 Lions (19-6) closed the quarter on a 23-4 run and the #12 Cougars (10-7) never got closer than 7 points in the 4th. Alex August led Berman with 25 points and Noah Lichtman added 18.

Jewish Culture 78 Mekor Chaim 38

Mica Hazan’s 14 points led five players in double figures for the #13 Lions (12-10). Orel Nahmani added 13 points, Zee Itzkowitz had 12 and Jojo Alfassy and David Albilia scored 11 each. The Cyclones are now 6-5.


JEC 53 Barkai 43

The Thunder are now 8-11. The Suns drop to 2-13.

YESHIVA LEAGUE

YDE 67 Waterbury Yeshiva 44

The Wolfpack drop to 4-9. The Thunder are 4-8 overall, 4-6 in the league.

Scott Satran Memorial Tournament begins Thursday at HAFTR

January 1, 2026

HAFTR’s 39th annual Scott Satran z’l Memorial Tournament tips off Thursday at 5:30 pm. .

Seven of the tournament’s 12 teams are ranked in the Jewish Hoops America National Top 25 - #3 DRS, #6 North Shore H.A., #8 Magen David, #12 Berman H.A., #13 Jewish Culture, #16 H.A. Miami and the host #20 HAFTR. The other participants are Barkai, HANC, JEC, Mekor Chaim and Rambam.

Each team will play three preliminary games Thursday and Friday to determine seeding. Play-in games featuring the 5 through 12 teams will be on Saturday night followed by the Tier 1 quarterfinals, the top 4 seeds against the winners of the 5 through 12 games.

The semifinals, Tier 2 and Tier 3 1st Place games and the tournament championship game will be on Sunday. The losing teams from the 5 through 12 games will comprise Tier 3. The losing teams from the Tier 1 quarterfinals will make up Tier 2.

The #4 Firehawks (11-7) won in pool play at Burroughs’ West Coast Holiday Tournament.

The Wildcats (4-9) got 12 points from Ivy Gabayzadeh at the Reason for the Season Tournament.

Lea Steinmetz led the #7 Sonics (9-3) with 10 points. The #11 Falcons fell to 10-8, 10-4 in the league.

HANC 40 Kushner 24

Ayalah Stulberger scored 14 points and Molly Leifer and Shirel Barzideh added 10 each to lead the Hurricanes (4-7; 6-11). The Cobras are 1-11.

The Rams are 3-11.

CALIFORNIA

Menlo 45 Milken 44

The #1 Wildcats (10-11) gave up a 7-point lead in the final 3 minutes, went ahead on a pair of free throws with :04 left but lost when Menlo player was fouled on a 3-pointer with :00.7 left and hit all three free throws. Daniel Kohanim led Milken with 13 points and Ashton Javaheri added 10.

YESHIVA LEAGUE

HAFTR 60 YDE 54

The #20 Hawks (8-5; 15-8) won their third straight game. Alan Fallas led the Thunder (3-7; 3-9) with 22 points.

MTA 57 HANC 47

The #15 Lions (6-3; overcame a double-digit 1st quarter deficit to win their third straight game. Andi Richman led the way with 18 points, Yishai Neiss and Ethan Vaysman added 13 each and Gavi Engel had 10. Yossi Davidovitz and Sam Ofer each scored 12 points for the Hurricanes (4-7; 13-8).

GIRLS

The #4 Firehawks (12-7) took 1st Place in their division of Burroughs’ West Coast Holiday Tournament.

Milken 48 Moorpark 37

Ivy Gabayzadeh led the Wildcats (5-9) with 17 points in consolation play at Trinity Classical’s Reason for the Season Tournament.
