Weiner Tournament tips off Wednesday

December 3, 2025

Beth Tfiloh’s 37th annual Weiner Family Tournament tips off Wednesday afternoon.

Joining the host Warriors in both the girls’ and boys’ brackets are Golda Och from New Jersey, HANC and Heschel from New York, Mae Boyar from Israel and Tanenbaum CHATfrom Toronto.

All the teams will play each other in the round robin prelims Wednesday through Friday. The semifinals will be Friday and the championships and consolation games are Saturday night.

Yoni Bakayev had 17 points and Sammy Carter added 10 for the Cyclones (4-3).

Nir Ovaknin’s 21 points led four players in double figures for the #16 Storm (5-3). Ilan Attias added 13, Ethan Stern scored 12 and Abie Kaweblum had 11.

Marathon 59 Posnack Jewish Day  52

The #19 Rams (5-6) managed to cut a 20-point 3rd quarter deficit down to three but the rally came up short. Guy Shlomi led Posnack with 16 points, Mark Mann added 15 and Matt Furer had 11.

Jake Schon scored 17 points and Ami Feldman added 10 as the Fire won their season opener.

Ari Varon’s 22 points led four players in double figures as the Lions (1-2) got in the win column. Eli Feinberg had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Matt Olen scored 17 points and Ori Maya had 10 points.

The Wolvs (3-1) won their third game in a row.

The #4 Falcons (5-1; 13-3) won their fourth straight game, beating the #2 Lions (5-2; 13-3) for the second time this year.

The #6 Warriors (6-1; 11-4) rallied after trailing by 9 points in the final five minutes. Jacob Salem led the #17 Hawks (3-3; 10-6) with 17 points and Daniel Naumberg added 10.

Isaac Stepner scored 26 points, Nathan Neufeld added 22 and Jesse Reinhart had 11 as the #4 Cougars (7-1; 11-2) won their fifth straight game. Yoni Finkelstein paced the Cobras (3-6; 5-8) with 18 points and Gavin Klatzkin added 15.

Leyad Teren scored 20 points and Bruce Epstein added 13 to lead the #12 Heat (4-3; 8-6). Akiva Borgen’s 12 points led the #14 Storm (3-4; 4-7).
