Gideon Greenberg scored 21 points and Jon Rhein added 20 as the #10 Rams (9-6) avenged a loss to the #12 Lions (23-10) last week. Shilo Kahan had 17 points for Jewish Culture.

Donna Klein Jewish Academy 55 Katz YHS 54

Josh Matheson hit one of two free throws with :03 left to give the Eagles (6-4) their second win over the #8 Storm (12-7) this season. Joey Siemens led Donna Klein with 27 points and Michael Kattan added 11. Abi Kaweblum hit five 3-pointers and scored 16 points for Katz and Nir Ovaknin added 10 points..

Consolation Bracket

Toby Levy led the Thunder (4-6) with 33 points.

Tiferes Torah 74 Hillel Miami 43

7th Place: H.A Miami 58 Hillel Miami 45

Toby Levy scored 25 points and Tzvi Vosofsky added 11 for the Thunder (4-6). Eitan Zoldan scored 17 points and Daniel Yudewitz added 15 for the Stingers (4-3).

Jonny Hazan scored 18 points and Mica Hazan added 14 for the #12 Lions (24-10). Elan Harris led the #8 Storm (13-7) with 16 points and Ilan Attias added 13.

Ilan Attias led the #8 Storm (12-6) with 12 points.

The Eagles (5-4) rallied after trailing by 9 points at the start of the 4th quarter. Michael Bettan had 16 points , including 12 in the final quarter, and Joey Siemens added 10. Caleb Gdanski led the Warriors (6-19) with 17 points and Simcha Rosenberg had 11.

MIDATLANTIC

Berman Hebrew Academy 56 Jewish Day School 43

Eli Teitelbaum scored 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds and Alex August and Itai Rozmaryn each added 12 points as the #7 Cougars (20-5) swept the season series. It was the first loss in the last seven games for the Lions (11-5).

The Cougars improve to 4-7. Zeke Levitt scored 27 points for the Kings (6-7).

Dov Hirsch scored 15 points, Yisroel Epstein added 13 and Shaked Ben David had 10 as the Mustangs (11-3) extended their win streak to eight games.

Avi Okner and Avu Mayer each scored 18 points to lead the #15 Aces (8-1) to their third straight win. Adir Amster had 16 points for #21 The Yeshiva (6-4).

Jake Abenaim scored 17 points and Josh Treuhaft added 12 as the #14 Lions (11-1; 18-4) won their eighth straight game. The #19 Rams are now 12-10, 5-5 in the league.

TABC 62 Magen David 48

The #8 Warriors rallied from 14 down to take a 1-point halftime lead but the #3 Storm used a 12-0 run in the 3rd quarter to take control. It was the fifth straight win for TABC (11-1; 16-3), who had four players scored in double figures. Eyal Kinderlehrer had 13 points, Dovid Saks scored 12, Yonah Manded had 11 and Akiva Borgen finished with 10. Magen David (7-5; 17-9)got 15 points from Jack Dweck and 14 from Phil Scherr.

Sami Neff led the #8 Cougars (5-6) with 16 points. Meytal Benjamini had 18 points for the Kings (5-9).

Leah Kaplan scored 21 points and Eden Taieb added 12 for the M-Cats (6-0). The Red Heifers are 2-4.

South Florida Boys Teams Compete in Airley Invitational

January 10, 2025

Eight South Florida Jewish boys varsities will compete this weekend in Boca Raton at the inaugural Binyamin Airley A’H Invitational, a tournament in memory of an Israeli paratrooper killed in the war in Gaza.

The tournament is raising funds for Beit Binyamin, a retreat in Tzvat in Airley’s memory that offers respite to combat soldiers, bereaved and displaced families and others experiencing the traumatic effects of war.

Airley, 21, was killed November 18, 2023, along with a commander and another soldier when he went to help them confront two terrorists in a house in northern Gaza.

Participating teams in the tournament include Katz YHS (ranked #8 in JHA Top 25), Posnack Jewish Day (#10), Jewish Culture (#12), Donna Klein Jewish Academy, H.A. Miami, Hillel, Ohr HaTorah and Tiferes Torah.

Games Saturday night and Sunday will be played at Katz Yeshiva High School and Donna Klein Jewish Academy.

9:30 - Posnack Jewish Day vs Tiferes Torah (at Katz)

White Bracket

8:00 - Ohr HaTorah vs Katz YHS (at Katz)
9:40 - Donna Klein Jewish Academy vs H.A. Miami (at Donna Klein)

Winners in the opening games will play each other in the semifinals Sunday morning with the bracket winners playing later in the championship. Losers in the opening games will play in consolation semifinals.
