The Rams (1-0; 4-1) squandered a 10-point halftime lead and fell behind late in the 3rd but used an 11-2 run at the start of the 4th to take control Isaac Ohayon paced Ramaz with 13 points and Bobby Sigoura added 12. For the Hawks (0-1; 1-3) Nate Meyer scored 14 points and Ness Salem had 12.

Yosef Bruckenstein led the Ravens (1-0; 1-2) with 16 points.

SAR 56 Kushner 46

The Cobras (0-1) had a lead in the 4th quarter but the Sting (1-0; 5-1) recovered and pulled away late. Ari Halpert scored 23 points for SAR and Sam Weiss had 21.

CANADA

H.A. Montreal 79 Lauren Hill 30

The Heat opened their season with an easy win behind Yaacov Ohayon’s 21 points, 14 from Simon Alloul and 13 from Isaac Cons.

Ramaz 59 HAFTR 48

In the season opener for both teams, Mia Form led the Rams with 18 points and Leila Sakhai scored 16. Olivia Weinrib had 16 points for the Hawks and Megan Scharf added 12.

Frisch 59 Kushner 11

Izzy Nadtrich had 18 points and Zoe Levy added 9 for the Cougars (1-0).

DRS captures Magen David Tournament title

Joe Aaron scored 20 points, including 16 in the second half and overtime, as the DRS Wildcats topped the SAR Sting 55-54 to win the Magen David Preseason Tournament, in memory of Elliot Torkieh A’H.

Seth Weiss paced SAR with 28 points and Ari Halpert added 12.

The Wildcats overcame a sluggish start and ended the opening quarter on a 10-2 run to tie SAR at 19.

The game was back and forth the rest of the way, with DRS holding a 1-point lead at the half and a 4-point cushion at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Weiss was the second leading scorer in the tournament at just over 19 points per game and Aaron averaged 16 per game.

SEMIFINALS

SAR 56 Ramaz 38

The Sting (4-0) raced out to a 30-9 lead and the Rams (3-1) could get no closer than 13 the rest of the way. Sam Weiss and Ari Halpert each scored 16 for SAR and Bobby Sigoura led Ramaz with 11.

DRS 43 Magen David 23

The Wildcats (3-1) used an 18-2 second quarter to put the game away as the host Warriors (3-1) barely registered double figures in each half. Tzvi Tsaidi scored 14 points for DRS and Joe Aaron added 9. The tournament’s leading scorer, Josh Chabbott, led Magen David with 7.

The Rams (3-0) were led by Bobby Sigoura with 16 points and Isaac Ohayon with 15.

Magen David 59 HAFTR 36

Josh Chabbott and Phil Sheer each scored 11 points for the Warriors (3-0) and Max Abed had 10. Ness Salem led the Hawks (1-2) with 16 points.

DRS 49 Hillel 42

Tzvi Tsaidi led the Wildcats (2-1) with 25 points and Joe Aaron added 15. Eli Braha and Bruce Epstein had 13 points each for the Heat (2-1).

Sam Weiss scored 27 points and Ari Halpert added 13 as the Sting (3-0) beat their West rivals. Akiva Borgen paced the Storm (2-1) with 23 points and Eyal Kinderlehrer had 12.
