MIDATLANTIC

Berman H.A. 71 Jewish Day School 67 2 OT

In an epic game fitting of this great rivalry, the Cougars squandered a 9-point second half lead and went down by two in the closing seconds of regulation when Shani Schwartz stole the ball at midcourt and drove in for a layup. But Berman tied it when Amaya Leibtag hit a layup off an inbounds pass with :00.5 left. The Cougars were forced to play the last few minutes of regulation and both overtimes without their top scorer, Jenny Kagan (20 points). Another leading scorer, Ma’ayan Zakheim (16), fouled out early in the second OT, but Maya August, who finished with 18 points, amd Meira Falk, hit key free throws to seal the win. Schwartz was dominant for the Lions, scoring a career-best 40 points.

Dec. 18

YESHIVA LEAGUE

Flatbush 48 North Shore H.A. 46

The Falcons (6-2) closed the game on a 10-2 run, capped off by a 3-point play by Merle Kassab in the final minute to put them in the lead. Camielle Mosseri led Flatbush with 19 points and Simone Amkraut added 13. The Lions fall to 3-6.

SAR 57 Hillel 38

Clara Rosen led a balanced attack for the Sting (5-2; 7-4) with 11 points. Hillel is now 1-4.

The Cougars trailed by 10 late in the 3rd period but closed the game on a 17-2 run as the #10 Lions (5-3) went ice cold. Gabey Margulies led Berman (5-8) with 14 points and Asher Falk scored 10.

MIDWEST

CPSA 51 Fasman Yeshiva 46

Adir Amster led The Yeshiva (1-3) with 13 points and Dovid Bitton added 10.

CALIFORNIA

Valley Torah 85 Sylmar 70

Johny Dan scored 37 points and Ethan List added 26 for the #2 Wolfpack (17-3).

Del Lago 75 San Diego Jewish Academy 61

Alex Gilbert led the Lions (4-5) with 28 points and David Feigenbaum and Jimmy Lai added 11 each.

YESHIVA LEAGUE

TABC 55 Frisch 44

Netanel Benloulou scored 28 points to help the #17 Storm (8-2; 8-5) win their fifth straight game and snap the Cougars’ 5-game win streak. Alex Zakheim had 17 points for Frisch (8-2; 10-4) and Matt Schwartz added 10.

JEC 73 Rambam 32

Yechiel Kadosh led the Thunder (5-6; 6-8) with 14 points. Shmuli Glick had 18 for the Ravens (2-7).

Rochelle Zell 59 Fasman Yeshiva 36

The #16 Tigers improve to 3-4. Dovid Bitton led The Yeshiva (1-4) with 13 points and Joseph Kraitman had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

In an early bird tournament prelim game to accommodate scheduling #9 Cougars improve to 11-4. The Thunder drop to 6-9.T

YESHIVA LEAGUE

MTA 53 Heschel 38

The Lions (2-7) snapped a 7-game slide behind Gavriel Rudman’s 19 points and 12 from Avraham Rivkin. Ben Eskenasi led the Heat (2-6; 4-11) with 12 points and Jesse Storch added 10.

Ramaz 68 Kushner 46

Milan Kushner scored 19 points to lead the #22 Rams (5-5; 8-10). The Cobras are 2-10, 1-8 in the league.

Eliana Wolfson and Sophie Lurie each scored 18 points as the Warriors (6-4) won their sixth straight game.

Arielle Grossman hit eight 3-pointers en route to a career-high 31 points, Yalee Schwartz added 16 points and Talia Tibia had 15 as the Firehawks (17-0) stayed unbeaten.

Kira Heuman scored 25 points for the Panthers (9-8).

Eitan Bessler scored 14 points to lead the #14 M-Cats (4-2) to their third straight win.

Dobbs Ferry 71 Leffell 40

The Lions (1-2) led for much of the first half and trailed by only six at the break before the Eagles poured it on in the final two quarters. Joe Schanzer led Leffell with 14 points.

Cedar Grove 46 Golda Och 27

The Roadrunners (0-1) led by four points at end of the first quarter but were then outscored 27-7 over the next two. Ari Jacob scored 8 points for Golda Och.

Elior Haimovici scored 19 points, including six 3-pointers, and Gabe Bodokh had 13 points but the Heat (4-1) lost for the first time.

Ben Farkas scored 26 points and Alon Perez added 12 for the #20 Warriors (7-7).

Judah Pardau scored 24 points and Yuval Ovaknin and Meir Eisen added 11 each to lead the #11 Storm )11-2) to their fifth straight win.

The Rams improve to 3-5.

Fuchs Mizrachi 57 Grand River Academy 54

Ephraim Blau’s step back 3-pointer at the buzzer gave the #23 Mayhem (6-1) their fifth straight win. Netanel Jacobs led Fuchs with 19 points, Blau finished with 14 and Adiel Sharvit had 12 and the the Mayhem managed to keep the Eagles 7-foot-4 center in check.

Ari Schon led the Fire (2-1) with 23 points.

Ben Weichbrodt scored 27 points for the Lions (1-5).

The #8 Panthers (15-6) got their fourth straight win, closing the game on a 12-3 run capped off by Josh Barak’s driving bank-shot with :04 left. Barak finished with 19 points and Yishai Rosenblatt added 16.

Wildcats fall to 6-9.

San Diego Jewish Academy 57 Guajome Park 53

Alex Gilbert led the Lions (4-4) with 22 points, Jack Silberstein added 14 and Jimmy Lai had 11.

Waterbury Yeshiva 57 DRS 55 OT

Hudi Kalish and Yisroel Winter each scored 17 points to lead the Wolfpack (4-5) to the upset as the #5 Wildcats (7-3; 16-3) lost their second straight home overtime game. Alex Millstone led DRS with 17 points, Ari Saffra scored 11 and Stephen Olshin had 10.

Hillel 69 Ramaz 66

Eddie Kassin led the #19 Heat (6-2; 7-4) with 24 points, Moses Smeke added 17 and Elliot Braha scored 13. Milan Kushner scored 28 points for the #22 Rams (4-5; 7-10) and Sam Ostad added 17.

North Shore H.A. 78 Heschel 55

David Orbach scored 16 points and all five starters scored in double figures as the #4 Lions (9-0; 12-2) extended their win streak to nine games. Ben Abizadeh added 14 points, Jonah Carmili had 11 and Jordan Zarka and Ben Falack each scored 10.

The #18 Falcons improved to 7-5, 6-4 in the league. The Hurricanes are now 1-9 in the league, 3-15 overall.

TABC 56 YDE 35

The #17 Storm (7-2; 7-5) won their fourth straight game. The Thunder dropped to 5-9, 4-6 in the league.

HAFTR 80 Magen Abraham 47

Sam Siri scored 30 points and Peter Drucker and Noah Freundlich each added 20 as the Hawks (5-4; 6-9) won their third straight game. Albert Sweid scored 30 points for the Kings (0-10; 0-12).
