Yeshiva League Results - Boys - Nov. 10, 2022

YESHIVA LEAGUE

SAR 63 Ohr Yisroel 48

The Sting (7-2) used a 19-1 run to take control midway through the 2nd quarter in their regular season opener. Benny Neuwirth led SAR with 18 points and Akiva Schanzer added 14. For the Flames (1-3), Reuven Rozehzadeh scored 14 points, Moshe Alexander added 12 and Yirmy Gross had 10.

DRS 48 YDE 42

Wildcats (10-0) have had a busy month but this was their league opener. Isaac Solomon led them with 19 points. Leo Mizrahi’s 15 points led the Thunder (1-4, 0-2) who rallied from 13 down at halftime to within one early in the 4th quarter..

North Shore H.A. 76 HANC 53

Ben Abizadeh scored 11 points to lead the Lions (3-0; 6-2), Jeremy Levian had 9 and Ben Fallack, Jonah Carmili and Jordan Zarka added 8 each. Hurricanes are now 0-3 in the league, 0-5 overall.

TABC 71 Kushner 21

The Storm (2-3) cruised in their league opener. The Cobras fell to 0-2 in the league, 1-4 overall.

Heschel def Magen Abraham

The Heat are now 1-1. The Kings are 0-5, 0-3 in league play.

The Hurricanes dominated in the second extra frame to win their season opener. The Lions are 1-1.

Ma’ayanot 56 Ramaz 27

Rapids now 2-0. It was the league opener for the Rams (1-4).

Kushner 30 Heschel 14

The Cobras are 1-2 in the league, 1-5 overall. Heat now 0-2.

Na’aleh 32 Shulamith-L.I. 27

Eagles (2-1) beat the Sharks for the second time in a week.

Asher Falk scored 47 points for the Cougars (0-5).

YESHIVA LEAGUE

Frisch 61 Waterbury Yeshiva 53

Alex Zakheim scored 25 points and Sammy Zelenetz added 14 to lead the Cougars (3-0; 6-2). Hudi Kalish led the Wolfpack (1-1) with 17 points, Yisroel Winter had 14 and Moshe Weiner scored 12.

MTA 39 JEC 38

Sruli Pariser hit a baseline jumper at the buzzer to win it for the Lions in their season opener. The Thunder (1-1; 2-3) had their biggest lead of the 2nd half at 36-31 with just under 2 minutes to play. With :29 left the Lions’ Gavriel Rudman banked in a 3-pointer to tie the game at 37. Akiva Sapieka hit one of two free throws for JEC with :05 left. Rudman got the inbounds pass, drove to the 3-point line and dumped it down to Pariser whose turnaround hit nothing but net. Rudman led MTA with 16 points and Pariser finished with 10. For JEC, Eitan Speyer had 18 points.

DRS, Hustle & Heart win NCSY 'Auburn Experience' Tournament

The DRS Wildcats and Hustle & Heart each won their four games as they took the boys and girls titles at the Auburn Experience Tournament in Alabama.

The tournament and Shabbaton was organized by NCSY to celebrate this summer’s trip to Israel by the Auburn men’s basketball team and its coach Bruce Pearl.

The boys MVP was Isaac Solomon after he scored 20 points to lead the Wildcats to a 71-26 win over Katz YHS in the final. Naomi Sigman was the girls MVP. Hustle & Heart beat HAFTR 56-18 to win the title.

Coby Brand scored 11 points to lead the Cobras. Johnny Katz led the Stars with 18 points.

DRS 44 HAFTR 27

A long way to travel to play your neighbor. Stephen Olshin led the Wildcats with 11 points.

Katz YHS 68 Beren 6

Judah Pardau scored 20 points, Ashir Rosen had 17 and Yuval Ovaknin added 10 for the Storm.

DRS 40 Kushner 10

Stephen Olshin had 10 points for the Wildcats.

Katz YHS 43 HAFTR 31

Yuval Ovaknin led the Storm with 10 points. Noah Freundlich had 11 for the Hawks.

Eliana Leitner scored 18 points and Laura Nagler added 14 for the Wildcats.

Daphna Steinmetz’s 20 points led four players in double figures for Hustle & Heart. Sari Gross added 16 points, Naomi Sigman had 12 and Simona Goldberg scored 10.

Daphna Steinmetz led Hustle & Heart with 24 points.

Elisabeth Gurtman led the Hawks with 15 points. Eliana Leitner had 13 points for the Wildcats.

Gabe Bodokh scored 27 points and Reuven Drazin added 10 to lead the Heat (2-0). Noam Elbaz had 8 points for Maimo of the North in their season opener.

The Wildcats (1-1) spoiled the Bulldogs’ season opener.

YESHIVA LEAGUE

BOYS

Hillel 70 Heschel 36

Elliot Braha scored 22 points and the visiting Jersey Heat (1-0; 2-2) spoiled the season opener for the Manhattan Heat. Eddie Kassin added 12 points for Hillel and Moses Smeke had 11. Ben Eskenasi and Aden Trubowitz each scored 9 points for Heschel.

Magen David 51 HANC 19

The Warriors (2-0; 5-1) stormed out to a 24-3 lead and were never threatened. Jesse Cohen scored 10 points and Jack Franco had 9 steals to go along with 8 points. The Hurricanes are now 0-2 in the league, 0-4 overall.

North Shore H.A. 56 Rambam 17

In the first game in the Ravens’ new gym the Stars (2-0; 5-2) scored the first 20 points. David Orbach led North Shore with 12 points and Jonah Carmili added 10.

GIRLS

Frisch 66 Heschel 17

The Cougars improved to 2-0 in the league and 6-1 overall. It was the Heat’s season opener.
