The 3rd Annual Cooper Yeshiva High School Invitational, hosted by the Margolin Hebrew Academy/Feinstone Yeshiva of the South, is slated to tip-off Thursday, December 17, 2009, in Memphis, TN. Featuring 16 of the top Yeshiva High School teams from across the country, the event, culminating in “Championship Sunday” on December 20, 2009, will crown a National Champion and a Tier II Champion from one of the most competitive invitational fields in the country.

Metropolitan Yeshiva High School League powerhouses Ramaz (Preseason Rank 1), Heschel (2); HANC (6), and Northshore (8) will join perennial National Top 25’ers Tarbut v’Torah (4), Stern Hebrew High School (17) and Cooper Yeshiva (25) in a two–tiered tournament. With veteran Cooper Invitational participants Columbus Torah Academy, Rabbi Alexander S. Gross Hebrew Academy, and Yeshiva Atlanta once again participating and the addition of new highly skilled squads in Shalhevet – Los Angeles, Hillel of Miami, American Hebrew Academy, Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School, Yeshivat Derech HaTorah, and Weinbaum Boca, spectators and fans in the mid-south are in for a Jewish athletic event like none other.

Players, Coaches, and Chaperones stay as guests in the beautiful DoubleTree Memphis Hotel and enjoy fully catered meals during their stay. Shabbat provides the opportunity to take a break from competition, join the Memphis Jewish community, and share in a wonderful Shabbaton, filled with engaging programming, interesting learning activities, camaraderie, and plenty of time for players to meet and develop friendships with one another.

All Cooper Invitational games, player and coach interviews, and pre and post game shows, are broadcast live by experienced sports broadcasters and color commentators via the Invitational’s Web-HQ. The Web-HQ also provides up to date scores, news feeds, and scheduling leading up to, and throughout, the event weekend.
