Aaron Pearlstein's 3-pointer at the buzzer won it for the Roadrunners (6-9) in the preliminary round of the Essex County Tournament. Pearlstein finished with 17 points and Elijah Taitel had 11.

Ben Edry scored 20 points and Noah Klar added 10 but the #25 Red Heifers (11-4) lost for the first time in 12 games.


Maimonides 61 Notre Dame 25

M-Cats (9-4) were up only five at the half but outscored ND 38-7 in the second half. Josh Weiss topped the opposition on his own with 27 points.

Lions (10-4) couldn't get the season sweep of Tuckahoe. Jon Rand had 15 points, Jason Scheff scored 13 and Jared Scheff had 12.

Ethan Lasko scored 18 points and Sammy Baum added 12 as the #15 Storm (14-9) won for the11th time in 14 games. Ben Tal paced the #11 Warriors (17-7) with 16 points.

Ethan Ayache scored 27 points and Ben Brener added 13 as the #24 Lions (13-10) won their third straight.


Sacred Heart 63 Cooper Memphis 62

Controversy at the end cost the #10 Macs (11-11) a shot at game-winner. Ethan Morris had 19 points, Jeffrey Owen scored 16 and Caleb Milobsky had 11 points and 19 rebounds.

Daniel Livnat poured in 27 points and the Rams (10-4) put the game away with a 33-16 third quarter.

Jaguars (4-10) fought back to tie the game after three quarters but ran out of steam.

Evan Sack had 28 points and 12 rebounds and Jacob Grzebinski added 10 points and 10 rebounds but the #14 Jaguars (16-15) continued their slide.

Ephraim Saks' runner at the buzzer capped an improbable comeback for the #12 Storm (9-3 league; 11-5 overall). #2 Cougars (10-3; 15-3) led by 18 at the half but TABC chipped away, taking a 1-point lead with just over two minutes left. Frisch regrouped and was up five with :37 left before TABC rallied to tie with :17 to go. Frisch held for final shot but Saks stole the ball with :05 left, went the length of the court and launched the winner as the clock ran out. Ranaan Kimel led the Storm with 21 points. Sammy Fishman led the Cougars with 14 points and Josh Dukas added 12.


YDE 49 Rambam 31

Jack Sayegh scored 16 points and Joey Yedid added 14 as the #16 Thunder (10-2; 14-4) reclaim sole possession of first place in the YL East. #18 Ravens drop to 15-8, 9-3 in the league.


SAR 72 Derech HaTorah 52

Daniel Wisotsky scored 26 points and Adam Duitz added 22 and the #3 Sting (9-3; 14-4) still have shot at first-round bye. Bulldogs drop to 6-13, 3-9 in the league.

Sam Bernstein scored 15 points and Sam Raab added 11 as the Cobras (8-5; 10-11) clinch their first playoff berth in four years. Rams now 8-11, 4-7 in the league.
